We do

Wedding season in the Wye Valley and we are delighted to be hosting several couples during May. The weather could be warmer for you but at least the cottages are comfortably heated and the good wishes are warm. The settings for your photographs are fantastic! Every blessing!

The lion shall lie down with the lamb

Visited a friend whose bottle fed lambs were playing with her cat, how cute were they all in the spring sunshine! See pic!

No elections in Tintern

Canvassers calling at Tintern Abbey Cottage today were suprised to be sent packing by the guests with thw words " Buzz off, we are in paradise here, we dont want it spoiled by real life and are having a quite wonderful time and the only sort of party we need ".
The guests tell us this is a paraphrase!

Volcanic ash cloud over Tintern?

We are grateful that all the cottage guests incluing the international contingent, have been able to come and go with no problems caused by flight delays. Spectacular blue skies for the last three weeks make it hard to believe there is a cloud of ash up there somewhere. It doesnt look as if it is over Tintern!

9oth Happy Birthday!

Having started the week with a wedding we ended it with a 90th birthday lunch party. Cheers everyone this has been a warm Tintern week with sunshine literal and metaphorical! We wish you all many more blue skies!

A celebratory week at Tintern Abbey Cottage

The week started with the excitement of a group of Latvian guests coming for the wedding of one of their number in Tintern. They had picture postcard perfect blue sky and warm sun, extraordinary in April and hopefully a sign that the marriage will be blessed too.
Fabulous photos taken in the Abbey and from our lawn with the Abbey behind. Congratulations!

Pink flesh!

Gardening all afternoon on Saturday and suddenly noticed the pink nose and arms with fetching white marks where the gloves have been. Never thought to wear high factor creme in April.Doh.

21st century arrives in Tintern!

The 21st Century has arrived at 18th Century Tintern Abbey Cottage now that Freeview TV is finally transmitted to the village. We have 5 flatscreen TVs all of which now receive TV plus radio channels. Add this to the ipod docks , CD/DVD players and WiFi already available- and we are in the modern age. Happily they all have off switches.

Panic for sunshine seats!
