A great fortnight here in Tintern Abbey Cottage despite mixed weather. We enjoyed the following:-
Visits to Tyntesfield and Dyrham National Trust, Fishing at local ponds and on the Usk, Canoed from Glasbury to Hay on Wye. Our visit co incided with Chespstow show which was a great day with good livestock.
Shopping in Chepstow was fine ( Tesco 15 mins) whilst Monmouth ( 20 mins) offers M and S and Waitrose.
The walks in the cottage handbook were good with a dog and agreat way to get a feel for the locality. Its also worth cimbing the 365 steps to Eagles Nest for the views. We had lunch at the Abbey Hotel next door, not special but passable.
The view of the Abbey from the cottage is very special and we have thoroughly enjoyed a really comfortable stay in this lovely cottage.
