Quietly located in a village setting ( Catbrook) approx one mile by road above the River Wye at Tintern . The Abbey ( under 2 miles by road see pictures below) and a myriad of other attractions are easily reached .The sheltered well stocked garden has its own hot tub

A traditional Welsh whitewashed stone cottage of great character, with sheltered and charming cottage garden, in a quiet but not isolated rural hamlet of the lower Wye Valley, South Wales.

The cottage is easily reached, being about 1 mile from historic Tintern( see Abbey pics above), 15 minutes drive from both the Severn Bridge (M48) at Chepstow, and the dual carriageway north to M50 / M5 / M6 / M42 at Monmouth, making it a convenient choice all year round.

Awarded the coveted five stars for facilities and quality by the Wales Tourist Board (now Visit Wales), the owners also hold the "Croeso Cynnes Cymreig ( Warm Welsh Welcome) award .The cottage also holds the VW AWARDS for facilities for walkers and cyclists.

Foxes Reach has long been a family holiday favourite( lots to do locally including plenty to interest active older children and the WiFi and hot tub are hits with teens) )and we have many walkers ( every walk from easy lanes to open mountain within reach) but has also become popular for family reunions , significant birthdays and anniveraries ,professional couples wanting a little extra space for a honeymoon or just to relax, and with film crew and professional performers -all of whom want comfort, location and civilised convenience.

We consider that the cottage is not really suitable for toddlers as we dont have safety equipment to protect them -although non crawling babes-in-arms and older children who can cope with stairs and normal beds are welcome.

The cottage sleeps 6 and we have a travel cot and a highchair for a baby plus we welcome pets. however we think that if you exceed 6 bodies ( adult child or pet) or bring a second travel cot you may feel a little cramped. The cottage is of cottage proportions and is not a modern large house. Please see the photographs. The four bedrooms are of similar sizes which means that the doubles are relatively small whilst the singles are relatively spacious. Space is particularly to be considered during the Christmas season when we also have a full sized Christmas tree. Very beautiful but also taking up space!
